Arts
Brookside Lower School opens the door to a journey filled with wonder, challenge, adventure, and excitement about learning. Cranbrook offers an educational environment that stimulates each student’s creative and academic interests, encouraging an early love of learning.
Outdoor Programs & Sports
No other three-year period in a young child’s life contains more growth—of mind, of body, of social awareness, and of character—than the middle school years. At Cranbrook Schools, we welcome and embrace this period of change by providing the ideal situation: a single-gender educational setting for boys and girls.
Every student participates in a service crew two days a week. Whether they are blowing glass for use in the dining hall or harvesting vegetables from the school's two-plus-acre organic garden, CRMS students are learning to look outside themselves and contribute to the greater school community.

Community
Students follow an integrated liberal arts curriculum immersed with real opportunities for students to not only learn the material, but work, dissect, engage, and rebuild it.
CRMS students build leadership skills, foster teamwork, and make unforgettable memories while exploring the natural world in the Rocky Mountains.
Community service is a way of life at CRMS, with over 14,000 annual service hours.
Students develop deep bonds with teachers, who mentor and inspire them with their passion, energy, and willingness to help them thrive both in and out of the classroom.
OUR BOARDING PROGRAM
Boarding students at CRMS enjoy life in one of the most beautiful mountain towns in the western United States and have built-in access to an incredible faculty who all also reside on campus with their families. In the dorms, students will find their “home away from home." Sharing a community with like-minded peers and adult mentors is powerful for a young person’s growth at this age. It is also a ton of fun!
The residential program at CRMS strikes a balance between nurturing and supporting students living away from home and giving them opportunities to develop their independence - all while expanding their life skills and making friends for life.
